Hey Ya'll!

It's just me, your friend, V. :) Just letting ya'll know about a fun place to go swing dancing. It's called the Golden Skillet and it's just off of 90th South, right behind Club 90 or something like that with bright neon signs. The Golden Skillet almost looks like a warehouse but it's a dance place. Here's the website for more deets: http://www.theswingteam.com/golden-skillet.php Hope to see ya'll there this Fri! Let me know if you have any questions or want someone to carpool with. I can perhaps help arrange that. (You all are welcome to carpool with me if you don't mind going to my mission reunion.:)..but I'll meet ya'll there!)

Toods,

Varci :)

MAC

Dear Uni 32nd Warders!

Is there anyone else out there who thought the combination of high school stomps and stake dances had long killed your desire to dance? We recently discovered a gem in Salt Lake City--the Murray Arts Center (MAC), which sponsors lessons, ballroom dances with live classic bands every week (http://www.wrightwayenterprises.com/mac.htm#Dance%20Schedule) in a remarkably uplifting atmosphere--not too dark or loud . . i.e., you can actually see and talk to the people with whom you dance!

Across our Centerville & Salt Lake Wards, we (Varci & Jacob) are starting a group of people interested in learning how to swing dance (key word: Learn). We're inviting any and all to join us Saturday evening for a 7:30 Lindy lesson and dance afterwards. Anyone is welcome to come--whether long-time dancer, or not-since-the-last-stake-dancer--whether alone or with a partner (many of us are coming alone). If you've never been, you will love to see all the elderly couples who come for their date nights (and yes, the bishopric-and-sweeties are welcome to come as well sometime).

Contact Varci (vsmedley@gmail.com), or Jacob (jzhess@gmail.com), if you'd like to carpool in that night. As an extra option, a group will be meeting for dinner before the dance, 6:30 p.m. at Sweet Tomatoes in Midvale @ 7455 S. Union Park Ave (~ 1300 East) [not to be confused with Fort Union & Union Avenue, both intersecting streets running east-west]. You can also come directly to the Murray Art Center (4868 South State, Murray, Utah) itself either for the lesson (7:30) or dance itself (8:30).

Hasta la swing,

Jacob & Varci
